Privacy notice
Your evidence stays yours.
This notice explains what personal data FARDALENS processes, why it is needed, which providers help us and the choices available to you.
Effective 6 October 2026 · Version 1.4
1. Who is responsible
FardalensKvK 42184952
Fardalens, operating under the FARDALENS brand, is responsible for the processing described in this notice. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@fardalens.com.
Registered address: Steekkant 26, 2993 DB Barendrecht, Netherlands.
2. Personal data we process
Free Career Check
The Free Career Check does not ask for your name, email address or CV. We process the options you select: your professional area, where you live, whether you need employer sponsorship, your age band (only if you need sponsorship), your highest completed education level and how closely it relates to the work you want to do, whether you completed a degree in the last three years and whether in the Netherlands (only if you need sponsorship), your relevant experience and how recently you used it, your own assessment of your Dutch level and your professional-registration status. We also process the result and reason codes it produces, the questionnaire, rule and reference-data versions used, a session token and operational timestamps. It never asks for your exact age, date of birth, nationality, gender, salary, employer, CV, the name of your school or university, your grades or your graduation date.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message.
Career Outlook Private Beta interest
If you register interest through the form on our website, we process the email address you enter and, only if you provide them, the professional area you choose and the Free Check outcome shown with the form. We use this only to contact you about Career Outlook Private Beta availability; it is not a newsletter. The registration is not linked to your Free Career Check answers or session.
Hosting and security
When you visit the website, our hosting and infrastructure providers process limited technical request data, such as IP address, browser details and request logs, to deliver and protect the service.
Error monitoring
If the website or its underlying code produces an unexpected technical error, our error-monitoring provider processes limited technical details about that error, such as the error type, the time it happened, the page or feature affected, the application version and, where available, the specific file, line and column in our code where it occurred. The underlying error message is not sent. This provider does not receive your name, email address, CV content, Free Career Check answers, cookies, full web addresses or any parameters they carry, and is not used for analytics or tracking. It stores this data in its EU region. Your device’s IP address and browser type may still be visible to this provider at a technical, network level when an error report is sent, even though we configure it to avoid storing IP addresses and to filter other sensitive data.
Invitation-only assessments
If you have been given access to a restricted, invitation-only assessment, we process the information you submit through that flow. This applies only where you hold valid access.
Payments
Public purchase is not currently available, so we do not collect payment data from website visitors.
Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information by email or in your answers.
3. Why we use personal data
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Provide the Free Career Check you request | Taking steps you ask us to take, and our legitimate interest in providing the check |
| Respond to enquiries, interest messages and Private Beta interest registrations | Taking steps you ask us to take, and our legitimate interest in responding |
| Operate and secure the website | Our legitimate interests, and legal obligations where applicable |
| Evaluate and improve the service using limited or de-identified data | Our legitimate interest in improving the service |
| Operate invitation-only assessments where separately agreed | Taking steps you ask us to take under that arrangement, and your consent where we specifically ask for it |
| Detect and fix errors so the website works reliably | Our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and functioning correctly |
Depending on the context, we rely on one or more of these bases. Where we ask for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
4. How the Free Career Check works
The Free Career Check uses rule-based logic to give a preliminary route based on your answers. The result is informational. It does not make an employment or immigration decision about you, and it does not replace the human review that applies to a Career Outlook. Besides your answers, it uses published reference information that is not about you, such as Dutch labour-migration salary criteria and aggregated salary and labour-market statistics.
5. Service providers and sharing
We use a small number of providers that process personal data on our behalf:
- Vercel, for hosting the website;
- Supabase, for database and storage infrastructure;
- Sentry, for error monitoring;
- Google Workspace, for email.
Some of these providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by an adequacy decision, including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can request information about the safeguard that applies, or a copy of it, at hello@fardalens.com.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share your information with employers or recruiters without your separate, explicit permission.
6. How long we keep data
- Standalone Free Career Check records are kept for 30 days after completion, or for 30 days after an incomplete check starts, and are then deleted. If a Free Check becomes part of an invitation-only assessment, the retention information provided for that assessment applies instead. Deleted records may remain in encrypted provider backups until the relevant backup cycle expires.
- Enquiry and interest emails, and Private Beta interest registrations, are kept only as long as needed to respond and manage the relationship.
- Records from invitation-only assessments follow the retention information provided to invited participants.
- Records we are legally required to keep may be retained for longer.
- Error-monitoring event data (see Error monitoring above) is kept in our error-monitoring provider’s active systems for the retention period set by our plan with that provider—a period that may change if our plan changes—then deleted. A backup copy of deleted data may remain with that provider for up to 90 days after the backup was made, before it is also removed.
- Infrastructure security logs follow the retention periods configured by our providers.
7. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to certain processing, receive your data in a portable format where applicable, or withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
Send a request to hello@fardalens.com. We may need to verify your identity, and will not ask for more information than necessary.
You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Cookies
We do not currently use advertising or marketing cookies. Restricted, invitation-only flows use strictly necessary cookies to keep access secure and sessions working. These cookies are required for that functionality and are not used for tracking.
